Dozens of local youths experienced the fun of shooting sports this past Sunday, April 24th during the Second Annual Get Youth Outdoors Day at the One in One Hundred Gun Club in Lumberton, Texas.
This free, community event was a cooperative effort between the Provost Umphrey Law Firm and Union Sportsmen Alliance (USA) and followed the previous day’s shooting clay competition.
Chief Donta Miller, Sergeant Larry Gilder, Sr and Deputy William Fonteneaux with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office came out to speak with the kids about firearm safety. The participants then enjoyed a free lunch catered by Courville’s Catering before they dispersed among the various activity stations.
Provost Umphrey Managing Partner, Joe Fisher and local union volunteers provided hands-on firearm safety instruction and assisted them in clays shooting. USA staff taught kids various skills including archery, archery safety, and line casting.
“This is my favorite day of the entire year,” says Fisher.
