Since joining the firm in 1991, Darren has obtained significant verdicts and settlements for his clients that were diagnosed with blood cancers, including leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome, due to chemical exposure. He is board certified and has been named to Texas Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America listings. Darren was named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for his work in Product Liability in 2020. Darren is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1991. He is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Darren specializes in toxic tort and chemical exposure, personal injury, health law, environmental contamination, 18-wheeler accidents, and consumer law. He has won significant verdicts for those injured by chemical exposure while on the job, including a $17,498,392 verdict for a retired petroleum inspector diagnosed with leukemia due to benzene exposure while working on ships and barges in Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas. This verdict was named to The Top 100 Verdicts of 2012 by The National Law Journal.
A member of the State Bar of Texas, Darren also is a member of the Port Arthur and Jefferson County Bar Associations. He is a member of the Southeast Texas Trial Lawyers and Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice.
